
The Kawasaki FX730V EFI engine has V-twin design with vertical PTO shaft. The motor uses overhead V-valves; spherical combustion chamber; cast-iron cylinder liners; metal engine cover with integrated cleanout ports; rotating metal grass chopper screen. The engine is equipped with sequential multiport fuel injection; integrated throttle body and ECU; integrated electronic governor and electronic controlled ignition timing. The motor uses a high-performance lubrication system; double or multi-stage canister air filter and returnless high-pressure fuel system.
The engine has an automatic compression release (ACR) system with recoil or heavy-duty shift-type starter. 13A or 20A charge coils, muffler, oil pressure switches, and shaft variations are available as an option.
Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 78.0 mm (3.07 in) and 76.0 mm (2.99 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 8.2:1. The FX730V-EFI engine produced 23.4 PS (17.2 kW; 23.1 HP) at 3,600 rpm or 25.8 PS (19.0 kW; 25.5 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 53.6 Nm (5.5 kg·m; 39.6 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm or 54.6 Nm (5.6 kg·m; 40.3 ft·lb) at 2,800 rpm of torque.
