Kohler CV1000

Kohler CV1000The Kohler CV1000 is a 999 cc, (61.0 cu·in) V-twin air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Command PRO series, manufactured by Kohler Co.

The Kohler CV1000 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, vertical PTO-shaft, pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a two-barrel, side-draft carburetor with fixed main jets and the CDI/MDI or Digital Spark Advance Ignition (DSAI) ignition system.

Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 90.0 mm (3.54 in) and 78.5 mm (3.09 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 8.8:1.

The CV1000 engine produces 37.5 PS (27.6 KW; 37.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 76.4 Nm (7.8 kg·m; 56.4 ft·lb) at 3,400 rpm of torque.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • C – Command series
  • V – Vertical PTO shaft
  • 1000 – Numerical designation
