Kohler CV940

Kohler CV940The Kohler CV940 is a 999 cc, (61.0 cu·in) V-twin air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Command PRO series, manufactured by Kohler Co.

The Kohler CV940 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, vertical PTO-shaft, pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a two-barrel, side-draft carburetor with fixed main jets and the CDI/MDI or Digital Spark Advance Ignition (DSAI) ignition system.

Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 90.0 mm (3.54 in) and 78.5 mm (3.09 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 8.8:1.

The CV940 engine produces 32.9 PS (24.2 kW; 32.5 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 72.7 N·m (7.4 kg·m, 53.6 ft·lb) at 3,000 rpm of torque.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • C – Command series
  • V – Vertical PTO shaft
  • 940 – Numerical designation
