The Hatz 1B50V is a 517 cc, (31.5 cu-in) single-cylinder air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion diesel engine with a vertical shaft, manufactured by Motorenfabrik Hatz GmbH & Co. KG for general-purpose applications.
This engine has a single-cylinder, overhead valves, direct injection fuel system and electric starter motor 12 or 24 Volts.
A 93.0 mm (3.66 in) cylinder bore and 76.0 mm (2.99 in) piston stroke give the 1B50V engine a total of 462 cc, (28.19 cu-in) of displacement. The compression ratio is 20.5:1. It produced from 55.7 PS (4.2 kW; 5.6 HP) at 1,500 rpm to 11.6 PS (8.5 kW; 11.4 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum output. The torque is 27.4 N·m (2.8 kg·m, 20.2 ft·lb) at 2,500 rpm.
