The Kohler SV530 is a single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Courage series, manufactured by Kohler Co. The displacement of this engine is a 535 cc, (32.6 cu·in) for models SV530-00XX and SV530-01XX or 597 cc, (36.4 cu·in) for models SV530-02XX and higher.
The Kohler SV530 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, aluminum head and crankcase with cast iron cylinder liner, vertical PTO-shaft, and pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a carburetor with a fixed main jet and an electronic ignition system.
The cylinder bore is 89.0 mm (3.50 in) for SV530-00XX and SV530-01X engines or 94.0 mm (3.70 in) for models SV530-02XX and higher. The piston stroke is 86.0 mm (3.39 in) for all versions. The compression ratio rating is 8.5:1. The SV530 engine produced 17.3 PS (12.7 KW; 17.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 42.7 Nm (4.36 kg·m; 31.5 ft·lb) of torque.
