Nissan A13

Nissan A13The Nissan A13 is a 1.3 l (1,288 cc, 78.6 cu-in) in-line over head valve four-cylinder 4-stroke gasoline engine from Nissan A-family. The engine was manufactured by Nissan Motor Company from 1974 through 1982.

The A13 (1974) was tall-deck engine. It features lightweight cast-iron block with a fully balanced five-bearings crankshaft and an aluminum head with overhead valves and a single camshaft. Bore and stroke are 73.0 mm (2.87 in) and 77.0 mm (3.03 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating was 8.5:1. It produced 76 PS (56 kW; 75 HP) of maximum horsepower and 105 Nm (10.71 kg·m; 77.49 ft·lb) of torque.

The A13 (1979–1982) was a short-deck engine. It had 70.0 mm (2.76 in) of cylinder bore and 76.0 mm (2.99 in) of piston stroke, and 1,270 cc of total displacement.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • A – Engine Family
  • 13 – 1.3 Liter Displacement
  • S – Carburetor type
