Nissan SR18Di

SR18DiThe Nissan SR18Di is a 1.8 l (1838 cc) straight four, 4-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from SR family, manufactured by the Nissan Motor Company from 1989 through 1993.

The Nissan SR18Di motor uses some cast-iron block, aluminum head with the dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) and Single Point Fuel Injection system.

The SR18Di engine cylinder bore is 82.5 mm (3.25 in), piston stroke is 86.0 mm (3.39 in) and the compression ratio rating is 9.5:1.

With a 9.5:1 static compression ratio, the factory quoted power and torque outputs are 110.0 PS (81.0 kW; 108.0 HP) at 6,500 rpm and 150.0 Nm (15.3 kg·m; 110.7 lbf·ft) at 4,000 rpm.

This engine was used in Nissan medium models for Japan domestic market and some UK models.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • SR – Engine Family
  • 18 – 1.8 Liter Displacement
  • D – DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshafts)
  • i – Throttle Body Fuel Injection

Cylinder block

The cylinder block, which is of a monoblock special casting structure, adopts a five-bearing-support system for quietness and higher durability. Cylinder bore was 82.5 mm (3.25 in) and stroke was 86 mm (3.4 in). The 1.8-litre SR18Di employs the same block as the SR18DE with Multi-Point Fuel Injection System.
