Honda GC160

Honda GC160The Honda GC160 is a small (160 cc) single-cylinder air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine with horizontal shaft, manufactured by Honda Motor Company since 1997 for general-purpose applications.

This engine has a single-cylinder, compact combustion chamber, tough resin overhead cam for durability and quietness and uniblock construction reduce fuel consumption. The Honda GC160 engine has transistorized magneto ignition, horizontal type carburetor, and recoil starter.

A 64 mm (2.5 in) cylinder bore and 50 mm (2.0 in) piston stroke give the engine a total of 160 cc of displacement. The compression ratio is 8.5:1. It produces 3.7 kW (5.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm and 10.3 N·m (1.05 kg·m, 7.6 ft·lb) of torque at 2,500 rpm.

  1. I would like to know if the Honda GC160 engine can be assembled on the chassis of the Honda tiller with the same type of engine. Thanks

    • As I know, it’s the same engine, only the PTO shaft should be of the same type, but this is only my opinion, it is better to clarify this in the official service center.

  2. I was wondering if somebody could tell me what the crankshaft end play spec is on the GC160 grabbing the crankshaft and moving it for and aft there is a little bit of movement but I don’t know what the tolerance is any help is greatly appreciated
