Kohler ECH440The Kohler ECH440 is a 429 cc (24.7 cu·in) single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Command PRO EFI series, manufactured by Kohler Co.

The Kohler ECH440 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, a horizontal PTO-shaft, splash type lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a electronic fuel injection (EFI) system and electronic ignition system. Fuel tank capacity is 7.0 liters (7.4 US.qts, 6.16 Imp. qts).

A 89.0 mm (3.50 in) cylinder bore and 69.0 mm (2.70 in) piston stroke give the ECH440 engine a total of 429 cc of displacement. The compression ratio rating is 8.0:1.

This engine produces 14.3 PS (10.5 KW; 14.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 30.8 Nm (3.14 kg·m; 22.73 ft·lb) at 2,800 rpm of peak torque.
