The Kohler K582 is a 946 cc, (57.73 cu·in) twin-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from K-series, manufactured by Kohler Co.
The Kohler K582 engine has an L-head (side valve) design, horizontal PTO-shaft, and pressurized lubrication system with a positive pressure oil pump. This engine is equipped with side-draft carburetor and battery ignition systems. The K582 engine used paper air cleaner (oiled foam pre-cleaner was available as an option) and full-flow type oil filter.
