Nissan TD27

Nissan TD27The Nissan TD27 is a 2.7 L (2,663 cc, 162.5 cu·in) straight four, water-cooled naturally aspirated diesel engine from Nissan TD family. The engine was manufactured from 1985 to 2001.

The TD27 has a cast-iron cylinder block, a cast-iron cylinder head with OHV (overhead valves) design and two valves per cylinder. The camshaft is driven from the crankshaft by the timing gear. It has a 96.0 mm (3.78 in) cylinder bore and 92.0 mm (3.62 in) piston stroke. Compression ratio rating is 21.8-22.0:1.

The TD27 engine produced from 86 PS (63 kW; 85 HP) at 4,000 rpm to 90 PS (66 kW; 88.5 HP) at 4,300 rpm of maximum horsepower and from 166 N·m (16.9 kg·m, 122.3 ft·lb) at 2,200 rpm to 180 N·m (18.4 kg·m, 132.7 ft·lb) at 2,200 rpm of peak torque.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • TD – Engine Family
  • 27 – 2.7 Liter Displacement
