Kohler ZT730

Kohler ZT730The Kohler ZT730 is a 747 cc, (45.6 cu·in) V-twin air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Confidant series, manufactured by Kohler Co.

The Kohler ZT730 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, vertical PTO-shaft, pressurized lubrication system. This engine is equipped with a carburetor (Keihin or Walbro) with a fixed main jet and electronic ignition system.

The cylinder bore and the piston stroke are 83.0 mm (3.27 in) and 69.0 mm (2.70 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 9.1:1.

The ZT730 engine produced 23.4 PS (17.2 KW; 23.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 57.1 Nm (5.82 kg·m; 42.14 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm of peak torque.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

  • ZT – Confidant series
  • 730 – Numerical designation
