
The Rato CGP125 engine uses the front structure of balance shaft to reduce engine vibration and improve stability; hot charging technique of crank and case to reduce the crank noise and extend lifetime. The engine is equipped with capacitance discharge ignition system (CDI), electric or kick starter and 5-speed gearbox with a manual wet multi-plate clutch.
The engine cylinder bore is 67 mm (2.64 in) and piston stroke is 65 mm (2.56 in). The CGP250 (RW167FMM) produced 14.7 PS (10.8 kW; 14.5 HP) at 6,500 rpm of maximum horsepower and 16.5 N·m (1.68 kg·m, 12.17 ft·lb) at 5,500 rpm of torque .
