The Toyosha S148 is a 1.5 l (1,477 cc, 90.13 cu-in two-cylinder liquid-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion diesel engine, manufactured by Japanese company Hinomoto under the Toyosha brand.
This engine has two cylinders, overhead valves (2 per cylinder), three main bearings, flyweight governor and Kiki fuel injection pump. The S148 engine uses Hitachi S13-31 electric starter, Hitachi L115-5B (12V-15A) alternator and Hitachi TRIZ-34 voltage regulator.
Bore and stroke are 97.0 mm (3.82 in) and 100.0 mm (3.94 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 23:1. The Toyosha S148 engine produced 28.0 HP (20.9 kW) at 2,500 rpm of maximum output.
